The main focus of the mission was on the ESG strategy and risk management:

Other aspects of the mission included:

Internal awareness raising and dialogue:
Engaging with internal HQ and subsidiaries to guide towards business compliance and/or frame policy positions; delivered internal training and awareness sessions (on EU policy on trade, customs and CBAM, sustainability due diligence ‘CSDDD’), prepare Q&A’s and information briefings.

External stakeholder engagement:
Lead the process on Sustainability Stakeholders Requests: coordinate and complete responses to outstanding stakeholders requests on ESG matters ie GHG, decarbonization, conflict minerals compliance, due diligence approaches, human rights, (Russia) sanctions). Support responses regarding Samsung Sustainability Rankings (Corporate Human Rights Benchmark (CHRB) en Know the Chain (KTC).
Coordinate with stakeholders on areas of interest for positioning and/or clarification (European Commission, European Parliament, Member States, RMI, Digital Europe, WCO, WTO, OECD). Monitor, track and develop responses to key customers on related sustainability questions
